Cape of Storms | “Dik Wednesday”

Winter 2017’s superstorm must go down in the annals of history as one the Cape’s biggest yet. What a privilege to be in the thick of it on a weekday with the family. Needless to say we were beaming once dried and back in our warm little abode. Some copious desalination of my new Tamron 70-200mm required!

Maresol Restaurant | Food photography

I was really chuffed to see my images in the new ad in Cape Town’s Waterfront magazine. Amazing what good old window light and some polyboards can do. Plus a 100mm macro lens compliments of Wayne Turner.

Brainstorm Magazine | May cover shoot

Charley Lewis must go down as one of the most affable chaps I’ve got to photograph. Perhaps it’s just because he also loves photography? His life experience working with COSATU, amongst others,  is a story well worth reading.

Keenan Horn | South African Hockey star

I decided to go all out for my last lesson’s training with up and coming photographers studying at the Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography 2 weeks ago. Thys Lombard connected me with Keenan Horn, a rising star in the South African Hockey team. Kevin Winzler’s project with the Utah Football team and a bag of my wife’s cake flower inspired a “cooking” collaboration. As the old adage goes, there is no “I” in team, so a big shout out to Keenan, Thys and a special mention to my students in the Certificate class of 2017.

Fijnbosch | Still life series

This is my first concept work towards a solo exhibition. It’s inspired by Nick Knight’s book entitled “Flora”.
